She was my best friend and my own true heart. I missed her so much when she died, it took me quite a few years before I could bear to have another. Now we have Genevieve, who we adopted when she was 4 (she's 10 now), and she's a very good girl. Don't tell her, but I don't know if any dog will be my own true heart the way my Sammy was.
