It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood! We’ve got two new birds that seem to have taken up permanent residence.
The bald eagle flew right over my head to make itself known. I’ve seen it a few times now. They’re not that common around here, so it’s exciting to get to see.
The turkey… The poor turkey has actually been booted out of its flock. Since it’s mating season and the dominant male doesn’t want any competition, he’s been ostracized. With that eagle and foxes and coyotes and fishers, I’m hoping he lasts long enough to be allowed to rejoin his turkey family in a few weeks. For now, he’s using our hedges as cover at night. He likes to hang around the pond during the day.
