Can you tell that I’m obsessed with foiling the sh*theads who have nothing better to do than harass people around the world with their nonstop scams?
Can you also tell that after investigating Call Blocking apps like Hiya (the absolute WORST for privacy violation) et al, that I would rather throw my phone away than use apps that are worse perpetrators than scammers for abusing your personal information and selling it over and over and over again to–forget highest–how ’bout … Read More
These are the faces of my family. Time zone clocks on my desktop screen.
With Easter coming up, I think back to when all of my children lived in one time zone, never mind under one roof. That was many moons ago. They’re scattered to the winds now.
We have to work hard to all wind up in the same place.
When they were younger, we always took a week to get together at the shore with our extended families. … Read More
Okay, I’m about ready to lose my mind with all of the scam/spam/robo calls I’ve suddenly been inundated with. Many of them during the middle of the night.
I’m guessing that one of my recently hacked accounts with some company that supposedly “really values my privacy and takes safety seriously” is the culprit. Does anybody have an account anywhere–business, bank, government, medical, etc.–that hasn’t been hacked yet? We’ve all gotten so many of these notices, “Sorry to inform you that … Read More
In recent years, I’ve been doing a fair amount of traveling to far-flung places. So I have some pretty unusual phone numbers in my contact list. Likewise, I’m used to getting calls at all hours of the day or night from different time zones.
But lately, I’ve been getting a rash of calls from Azerbaijan and Georgia. Neither are places I’ve been or plan on going to.
My first thought was that maybe they’re from someone who knows someone who … Read More
As my long-time readers already know, as far as I’m concerned, training never stops. By continually working with our animals to build trust and responsiveness, we have a better chance of ensuring their safety and our ability to fully get to enjoy them.
I recently had a conversation with another dog-loving friend about dog training, and what we would consider the essential must-have-down-cold training commands. While both of us have what others would consider to be highly trained dogs, the … Read More
5 gallons of sap collected in 3 days
Strained out bits, bugs, and particles through cheesecloth
Boiled 85% down on our outdoor grill (Maybe next year, I’ll build a fire box…)
Finished the last on my stove so I could watch to make sure it didn’t burn or turn to candy.
This is what I’m left with.
Unbelievably yummy!
Pure joy.
This is what 17 looks like at our house.
Graidy, our white BC mix, is 17ish–we don’t know his age exactly since he came to us as a stray at about 1 yo.
He still runs around like a puppy. Nobody can believe he’s that old when they meet him.
Wink, our Cavelier is 11. Finn, our Maine Coon cat is 14. All going strong.
I think there’s longevity in the water here. (That and lots of love, high-quality food, … Read More
