Spread the Word about Advertising Free Dogs on Craigslist

Sunbear Squad has asked that I pass along this message:  Please spread the word to anyone who may be thinking about rehoming their dogs or cats. Never advertise your pet on Craiglist (or anywhere else for that matter)as “free to a good home.” Sadly, Craigslist, in particular, has become a magnet for mentally ill animal abusers and dog fighters who torture and kill pets.

Rent-an-Aussie

australian shepherds An Aussie-loving friend and I were discussing the joys of living with and loving Australian Shepherds. Having lived with a few and fully understanding the gifts and challenges they can present, I think about whether I’d get another Aussie at this point in my life or something a little less energetic. And I really don’t know… It’s hard to ever go back once you know the intelligence level of these guys.

Deer tick nymph stage

Deer tick nymph stage

Excuse my dirty hand. Just came in from weeding in the garden when I noticed the dark speck on my nail.

When I went to flick it off, it didn’t budge.

Then I tried to pick it off and realized…

that it was a lovely deer tick in the nymph stage— a stage with about 20% likelihood for it to be a carrier of Lyme Disease.

Luckily I spotted it before it had a chance to … Read more
