Time to Figure it Out

Graidy went to visit friends the other day and had a great ol’ time! Actually, this is just a Graidy look-alike. When a friend sent this photo, I had to do a double-take.

Since we got Graidy from a wonderful Border Collie rescue place, we’ve always wondered what he was mixed with. While he certainly had the high energy of a Border Collie, he had zero herding instinct. That is, if you counted herding anything on two or four … Read more

They Call These Puppy Treads but They’re Awesome for Older Dogs and Humans Too

Puppy-Treads-w When I was asked to try out these Puppy Treads, made by Handi-Ramp  in exchange for an honest review, I jumped at the chance!

You see, I immediately saw these non-slip, self-adhering, clear vinyl strips as having the potential to solve multiple problems for dog owners with wood floors. (More on this in a moment.)

But first, here’s the low-down from their site:

  • 6″ wide x 24″ long

finn-litter-box  It’s been an exciting couple of days. I go away for just ONE day and come back to find that not only has Wink eaten a corner of a rag rug to shreds, but then he helped himself to the covered kitty litter box for dessert!

How did I find this out? When he started throwing up the evidence.

Not aware that he’d been binge-eating at this bazaar banquet, I quickly got brought up to speed with one look at … Read more

Wish Dog Powered Scooters Had Been Invented When Kiera Was Young

When Kiera, my Austrialian Shepherd, was young, Andrew and I would take turns every day taking her for a run. Not each of us every other day. Every day, twice a day at least, we’d take her for a 3-mile run. I’d have the morning shift and he’d take the evening shift. That barely took the edge off her need to run.

My legs don’t want to run 3 miles everyday anymore.  So if I were ever to get another … Read more

Tis the Season to Get Puppies

Fa la la la la, la la la la!

Bichon Frise 8 week puppy Cait’s boyfriend’s family is a case in point. They just got a little Bichon Frise. He’s cute as a button and the only problem he will face is potential love overload. They just got him, and I just got the first phone call of many on training questions.

Which means, of course, that it’s time for another primer on house-training.
