I really really tried to wait a year. Best laid plans… The cycle of life begins again.
Meet Riley.
I admit it. I have dogs on my brain. I’ve made it a whole 9 months without a dog. That’s closing in on a new record for me. It’s not that I don’t miss Finn, too. I do. But cats don’t fall into the “can’t live without” category for me.
So I was curious. Where do most people fall in the “can’t live without” category? Looks like it depends on what country you live in.
I’m often asked if there are benefits to having multiple dogs. I’d have to say it depends on the number of multiples you’re considering. For instance, is having two dogs … Read More
…Two dogs ago.

When I saw that tagline, I laughed and thought, yep, that was me. I used to be normal. Before I started adding more dogs and a cat to our animal family. My life used to be sane back then.

…it will take before seeing an open gate will no longer trigger a reflexive heart-clutching moment?

It’s been 3 months since Wink joined the rest of our animal family on the other side.
When they were all here, if I’d come upon a gate left open like this, I’d have somebody’s head for being so unconscious. That’s after I’d have spent the next few hours chasing dogs down the street while screaming at cars to slow down, and running through … Read More
Spring cleaning turned up this photo from a long-forgotten box tucked far back in a closet. Two of my favorite girls in the world.

Hard to believe that one left the planet almost a decade ago. It seems like just yesterday we were running around a field chasing sheep. Me, in fits of laughter. She, annoyed that I wasn’t being more serious about holding up my end of the job. She was so good, there was really nothing for me … Read More
